Hello Blogger my old Friend

No apologies for long times between postings.. It just doesn't seem to work. Its been a very busy June. We did our yearly trip to Jackpot for KnitTech's birthday. The first part of the day made me really think that this was the year that the casino would win. I managed to lose everything I played. Then the night came. KnitTech left me at the roulette table and went off with her aunt. I ended up losing for for first while and then luck came back and thumped me in the head. When I left the table (2am) I was way up and very happy. KnitTech got up much earlier than me and I gave her some of my chips. When I got into the shower she returned from her morning excursion. I asked if she had lost all her money and she emptied her pockets even farther ahead than I was. I think that overall we didn't home way ahead but we did come home pretty close to even. A win in my books.

The grill has been very busy. Seems I'm created a rib monster in KnitTech. We've done ribs several weeks in a row. While I don't feel they are competition quality they are definitely food quality. I think I've got the marinade down pat. Now need to work on a complimentary sauce for them. Between ribs I managed to grill up some pineapple. KnitTech and I didn't like the flavors but the gaming group seemed to. I'm not sure if they liked it because I cooked it or because it was really good. I need to let them know that I really really need constructive criticism when I cook. They won't kill me by saying "Yuck" if its not to their liking. Last weekend I also did some chicken (seems the Tyson company had a shortage on thighs as the choices were wings, legs, or breasts) legs and used my homemade sauce. Another big win..

It seems that Mother Nature didn't get the memo that 21 June was the first day of summer. It arrived yesterday with a vengeance. Remember when I was complaining about show at the beginning of June? Well 28 June it all turned around it was 100 degrees. Wow.. We were not prepared for that. Ended up getting out some fans and sleeping with no covers and the fan running. We survived along with Havok and the 3 kitties of the popsicle lips.. Today it dropped back down to the 80s. Much better.

Fourth of July plans? A nice 3 day weekend (woot no work on Monday). Saturday we are going to go up and stay overnight at the in laws. I twisted KnitTech's arm (not the tennis elbow one) and we will be dining at a brewpub in Cascade. I did some web searching and it looks like the best of the 2 available. We'll then go out and look at stars. According to the weather reports it should be comfortably cool up there. Sunday we'll return home and fire up the grill for the 4th. Dusty, Kat and the kids will be coming over. KnitTech is working on the menu. It looks like it will be burgers, dogs and I'm hoping some tater salad.

Well I'm outta here but will have pix next post.
