Tried to be a bit busy this weekend. Saturday I cleaned up the back patio. I think it turned out pretty good. Cats seem to like the clean loose dirt where I raked. Saturday afternoon KnitTech and I went to her Aunt's house as she needed her computer worked on.
Sunday it was back to brewing. I bottled up the All Idaho brew that our club brewed up back in January. I was making it a Lambic so I let it ferment for a pretty long time. There was a bit of a scare as I thought it had mold on it but after doing some panicked research it turned out to be okay. We tasted it and it is definitely a Lambic. Ended up with 38 bottles when all was done. FatCat Brewery is proud to announce their new Lambic. House Bunny.
I also transferred the Apple Mead to a secondary fermenter. This of course meant that I needed to take a sample to get a gravity reading. Which conveniently allowed us to sample it. Very nice apple and honey flavors. Its at about 5% alcohol now. Not a real accurate reading on this one since the original gravity was off the scale on my refractometer.
Next weekend the 2nd Mead will get transferred to a secondary and the plums added. Can't wait to check out its gravity (original reading was accurate) and get a taste. Although we won't be able to check the taste of the plums at that point.
Since I don't have a beer currently brewing its time to start planning for the next one. I'm really thinking that it will be a coffee based beer. Need to start looking for recipes..

Nice to hear FatCat Brewery has a new member to their line up. Good luck finding a coffee-based beer recipe. Wish I could help but coffee is definitely not my cup of tea.
